Tuesday: 10 am to 4:30 pm
Wednesday: 10 am to 8 pm

We are closed Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Year's Eve.
The University of Michigan Matthaei Botanical Gardens offers a wealth of activities and resources for all visitors, from families to gardening enthusiasts to hikers, birders, scientists, volunteers and students - or to those simply seeking an escape into nature.
The Conservatory at the Matthaei Botanical Gardens hosts plants from many warmer regions of the world. It contains more than 1,200 species and is the largest University owned conservatory in the United States.
The collection is divided into three houses that reflect three prominent climatic conditions:
- Tropical House: Enjoy special collections of bromeliads, ferns, cycads, and orchids.
- Temperate House: Displays plants from temperate regions around the world. Includes Mediterranean plants, bamboo, carnivorous and a bonsai collection.
- Desert House: View succulents from around the world including barrel cacti, aloe, and agave species.
